Current Status and Outlook

Tropical Storm (TS) MEARI has started to accelerate northeastward across the open waters of the Western Pacific Ocean as it continues to intensify.

Since it is no longer posing a threat to the Philippines, this will be the Final StormWatch on Meari.

Where is the Meari?

As of 8:00 PM PhT today, November 04...1200 GMT. The center was located over the sea northwest of Northern Mariana Islands (near 16.0N 139.6E), about629 km northwest of Guam or 1,869 km east of Northern Luzon, PHL. 

How strong is it?

Maximum Sustained Winds (10-min avg): 95 kph near the center...Gustiness: 120 kph

Where is it heading?

It was moving Northeast @ 13 kph, towards the open sea of the Western Pacific Ocean.

Forecast Highlights

- Meari is expected to become a Typhoon within the next 12 t0 24 hours.

- Meari will pass well to the north of the Northern Mariana Islands on Sunday.
