Tropical Depression SARIKA (DODONG) has started to dissipate as it moves further inland off Fujian Province. Complete dissipation expected within 12 to 24 hours.

This is the final advisory on this system.

FORECAST OUTLOOK ANALYSIS (up to 24 hours)*

SARIKA (DODONG) is expected to rapdily dissipate as it moves deeper across Fujian Province off China.

THIS EVENING (SAT):  Dissipating over land, just an area of low pressure off Fujian Province...about 120 km NW of Fuzhou City, China [8PM JUN 11: 26.1N 118.1E @ 35kph].
TOMORROW MORNING (SUN):  Dissipated along Zhejiang Province (China) [8AM JUN 12: 28.9N 119.4E @ 30kph].

Maximum Sustained Winds (1-min. avg) are near 45 km/hr (25 knots) with higher gusts. SARIKA (DODONG) is a Tropical Depression (TD) on the Saffir-Simpson Tropical Cyclone Scale. SARIKA is a small-sized tropical cyclone with a diameter of 260 kilometers (140 nautical miles).

*Please be reminded that the Forecast Outlook changes every 6 hours, and the Extended Forecast Track have an average error of 250 km on Day 3...450 km on Day 4...and 650 km on Day 5, while the wind speed forecast error, averages 35 kph per day. Therefore, a turn to the left or right of its future track and changes in its wind speed must be anticipated from time to time.

EFFECTS & HAZARDS SUMMARY

SARIKA's (DODONG) circulation has started to breakdown with only a few amounts off the SW portion. Below are the summary of the depression's parts and its hazards affecting specific areas:

DISSIPATING RAINBANDS - affecting Fujian Province of China. Tropical Depression Conditions w/ moderate to strong winds (30-61 kph) can be expected along these bands (click here to know more about Rainbands).
24HR TOTAL RAINFALL ACCUMULATION - from 5 up to 50 mm (low to medium rainfall) can be expected along the outer & inner rainbands...with isolated amounts of up to 120 mm (medium) near the center of SARIKA (DODONG). (click to open NOAA's eTRaP graphic).
