TROPICAL DEPRESSION 17W (UNNAMED) BRIEFLY ATTAINED
TROPICAL STORM STRENGTH 6 HOURS AGO BUT LOST POWER
ONCE AGAIN AS IT BEGAN TO INTERACT WITH CENTRAL
VIETNAM'S TERRAIN

+ FORECAST OUTLOOK: 17W is expected to make landfall
late tonight along the Vietnam's coast...dissipation
of this system expected. 

+ EFFECTS: 17W's circulation continues to spread across
Central Vietnam, SW Cambodia & Eastern Thailand
including Hainan Is, China. Moderate to heavy rains and
winds not in excess of 55 km/hr can be expected along
its circulation
.

+ TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCH: The Tropical Disturbance (LPA
/99W/1006 mb) slowly organizes off the Philippine Sea.
It was located about 400 km ESE of Borongan, Eastern
Samar (11.2N 129.0E)...with winds of 30 km/hr, almost
stationary. This system will be closely monitored for
further development into a Tropical Cyclone within a
day or two.

outlook, effects & current monsoon intensity, and tropical
cyclone watch changes every 06 to 12 hours!
